Privacy Policy

Effective October 19, 2026. This policy explains how Montgomery Appworks LLC ("we", "us") handles information in Lampstead Memory (the "app").

Without an account: your data stays on your device

If you don't sign in, your verses, any verses you add, your progress, review schedule, streak, reminders and settings are saved only in the app's local storage on your device. We don't receive them, except a web reminder, if you turn it on (see Daily review reminder).

Microphone and speech

If you use the mic in Say it or Recite, your audio goes to your device's or browser's speech recognition service (for example Apple or Google), and that provider's privacy policy applies. We don't receive, record or store your audio. Only the resulting text is used on your device to score your recitation. Listen mode plays pre-recorded audio (the “George” voice from the Kokoro-82M text-to-speech model, Apache License 2.0) and, for verses without a recording, your device's built-in text-to-speech.

Optional sign-in: your Lampstead account

Sign-in is optional. Lampstead Memory uses the shared Lampstead account, the same account used by all Lampstead apps (Lampstead, Groups, Prayer, Memory and Kids), all run by us. The account service and Memory's sync service both run on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages Functions with Workers KV storage for accounts, and Cloudflare Workers with D1 for Memory progress), mainly in the United States.

What we receive from the sign-in provider:

• Sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address, whether Google verified it, and your name.
• Sign in with Apple: your Apple user ID, the email you choose to share (which can be a private relay address), and your name if you share it the first time. We also get an authorization code, which we exchange for an Apple refresh token. We keep that token only so we can revoke access when you delete your account.

What we store: in the Lampstead account service, a Lampstead account ID, your email, your name, the linked Google/Apple IDs, and the Apple refresh token. Accounts with the same verified email are linked into one Lampstead account. In Memory's sync service, your Lampstead account ID, email, and memorization progress: verse references, review schedule, mastery scores, streak and practice days, with update times. The text of verses you add yourself is not synced.

How we use it: to sign you in across Lampstead apps, sync your progress, and recognize a Lampstead Collection subscription bought in any Lampstead app. We don't sell it, use it for ads, or share it except with our service providers (Cloudflare for hosting, and RevenueCat for subscription status once purchases go live).

Add from Lampstead

If you have Premium and are signed in, the Library asks the shared Lampstead account service which passage you are currently studying in the Lampstead app (using your sign-in session), so you can add it with one tap. Nothing is sent unless you are signed in.

Scripture sources

Scripture text is public domain: KJV, WEB (via bible-api.com), and ASV and YLT (from the scrollmapper/bible_databases project). Book text and Listen audio are downloaded from our own site when you use them; no personal data is sent.

Founding tester launch offer

During the web beta you can leave your email on the Today screen to save a founding tester spot. We use that email to send you the founding tester launch code. If you are signed in, we also store a founder flag on your Lampstead Memory account so that offer can be recognized later. The discount itself is not applied in the app yet. We send occasional Lampstead updates only if you tick the optional box, and you can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your email at any time at support@montgomeryappworks.com. We don't share or sell your email. It is sent to our sign-up service at lampstead.app. If it can't be sent right away, it is kept on your device until it is sent, and the app tries again the next time you open it. You can remove it from your device with Remove my email or by dismissing the card. To have it deleted after it has been sent, email support@montgomeryappworks.com and we will delete it.

Purchases

Nothing is for sale yet: during the web beta, every Premium feature is free. When the iPhone and Android apps launch, Premium will be sold through the App Store (or Google Play). Apple or Google will process payment, and we never receive your card details. The app only learns whether your Premium or Lampstead Collection subscription is active. When subscriptions go live, purchase status will be handled by RevenueCat, our subscription service. If you sign in, it is linked to your Lampstead account ID so the Collection can unlock Premium across Lampstead apps.

Daily review reminder

The daily reminder is optional and off until you turn it on. In the iPhone and Android apps, the reminder is scheduled on your device and nothing about it is sent to us. On the web, turning it on asks your browser for permission and creates a push subscription: a push service address and keys from your browser. We store that subscription on our server with your reminder time, your time zone, whether to skip days you've already reviewed, and the date of your last completed review (so we don't remind you after you've reviewed). If you're signed in when you turn it on, it is linked to your Lampstead account so it can be deleted with the account. It does not include your verses, progress or email. Reminders are delivered through your browser's push service (for example Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft) and the message content is encrypted. Turning the reminder off, Delete my data, or deleting your account deletes the subscription from our server right away, and we also delete subscriptions the push service reports as expired.

No ads or tracking

The app has no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no cross-app tracking. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count anonymous visits. It uses no cookies and collects no personal information.

Keeping and deleting your data

Signed-in users can tap Progress → About → Delete account. This permanently deletes your Lampstead account (for all Lampstead apps) and your synced Memory progress, deletes the progress on your device, and for Sign in with Apple revokes access to your Apple ID. Deleting your account doesn't cancel subscriptions. Cancel those in your App Store or Google Play settings. Deleted data may remain in Cloudflare's automatic database backups for up to 30 days before it is overwritten. Without an account, About → Delete my data clears everything on the device. You can also email us to ask for access to or deletion of your data. We keep account data only until you delete it.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A child can use the app without signing in, and then nothing is collected unless they leave an email or turn on a web reminder. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
